"Black Beauty" describe los diversos estados de ánimo oscuros del amante de Lana y la impotencia que siente al no poder cambiarlo. Mientras trata de adaptarse a sus muchos tonos de negro, no puede evitar sentirse asustada y ensombrecida.

Fue escrito con Rick Nowels y producido por Paul Epworth. Existe un registro separado que enumera a su ex novio Barrie-James O'Neill como cocreador, sin embargo, se desconocen sus contribuciones. La demostración se terminó en algún momento de junio de 2013 y se filtró el 20 de julio de 2013. Sirve como el primer bonus track del álbum original.

"Black Beauty" fue lanzado como el tercer sencillo de Ultraviolence el 21 de noviembre de 2014, exclusivamente en Alemania. Un EP de remezclas fue lanzado el mismo día a través del sitio principal de Universal Music Deutschland

Sin embargo, en "Black Beauty", su amante no tiene los mismos sentimientos que ella, lo que crea el conflicto emocional subyacente y la angustia que es característica de Ultraviolence.
